I wanted to share a project my husband and I have been working on that I think may be genuinely useful to this community, and beyond.

I've been pretty dissatisfied with the referral systems that currently exist for therapists and clients. So, we decided to build something better: The Therapist Connector.

The idea is simple: a potential client, or a mental health professional on behalf of a potential client, fills out a brief form describing what they’re looking for. The Therapist Connector matches that request in our database and curates a digest of up to five therapists who fit their needs, along with contact hyperlinks.

The hope is that this solves a couple of problems at once:

For mental health professionals: You can stop playing middleman when someone is in need of support, and save time no longer scouring listservs or online communities when you're looking to fill your practice.

For clients: Instead of sorting through an overwhelming directory or asking their friends (hoping the recommendations take their insurance), they get a digestible and precise list of therapists who actually match their needs, down to hourly availability.

There’s a simple profile for professionals to complete. We’re intentionally not asking you to write another lengthy bio or duplicate everything that’s already on advertising platforms or your website. It just requires the practical details needed for matching, plus links to your existing profiles and/or website. Additionally, your details aren't public facing in a directory format.

We’re officially accepting profiles and will have a good diversity of therapists and specialties represented before we open it up to clients. Once we launch the client-facing side, I’ll send an update to all therapists who have signed up - everyone who joins before launch will receive two months free. (And of course, it is free pre-launch.) Additionally, the first 50 therapists to join will be locked in for a lifetime rate of $29/month, so long as your membership remains active. (We launched three weeks ago and there are very few spots left at this level.)
