Description:

The number of Trans Folx is growing quickly, especially in WA state and it’s imperative we’re able to work with this expanding population. This introduction will cover some of the basics you need to know, what it means to work with a Trans person as part of your practice or specialty, how to be affirming in your work, and give you a chance to ask questions.The number of Trans Folx is growing quickly, especially in WA state. When a person transitions it disrupts their world, both internally and relationally. Regardless of your specialty/practice Trans Folx will show up. It’s imperative we’re able to work with this expanding population. Join us for discussion, techniques, concerns, and a robust Q&A session.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify 3 issues that may come up as part of working with Trans clients.

  • Better practice overt affirmation with trans clients.

  • Identify 3 ways to support Trans and NB clients within my practice or specialty.

About the Presenter:

Sar is a Non-Binary Trans, systemic LMFT based out of Redmond, WA. She specializes in Identity, Consensual Non-Monogamy, and Consent. Sar is author of, "The Consent

Primer," an internationally known Consent educator, an MFT supervisor, an advocate for non-binary & Trans individuals, and works as a professor at Antioch University.

This course is approved for 2 CE hours for LMHCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, and all  associate-level licensees in Washington State.


Washington Mental Health Association (WMHCA) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2079. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. WMHCA is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.


2 NBCC clock hours will be awarded at the conclusion of the course.
