WMHCA is aware that providers who bill Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) may have received letters identifying an overpayment and requesting the recoupment of funds within 30 days of the letter, for one or more clients, and without adjustment codes explaining the reasons for the overpayment and recoupment.
WMHCA has been working with legislators and the Health Care Authority (HCA) to get more information about these letters. CHPW has now informed us that they will be sending new letters with adjustment codes to any provider or provider group that received the first letter. These new letters will extend the payback date by an additional 30 days. In addition, they informed us that their provider relations team will be reaching out directly to any providers who received these letters to answer any questions and discuss recoupment options.
