The Washington Mental Health Counselor's Association (WMHCA) has recently updated its mission statement to be:

The Washington Mental Health Counselors Association is a LEADER in promoting human dignity in mental health. Our distinct professional identity embraces anti-racism, anti-ablism, education, public policy, community building, and relational advocacy. WMHCA is transforming counseling by integrating anti-racism into all aspects of the profession.

WMHCA is committed to becoming an anti-racist organization. As part of this effort, we aim to increase diversity within the profession, membership, and the board. In line with our mission and objectives, we request optional demographic information from our members through the membership profile form. The data gathered will help us identify areas where representation is lacking in our membership and further guide our efforts to enhance diversity among mental health counselors. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
