• This is a WMHCA lead bill that adds licensed mental health counselor associates to the professions that can access the HEAL-WA database.  Social worker associates and marriage and family therapy associates already have access.  

• This bill is being lead by NASW-WA and we are supporting it.  It allows the one member of the Washington State Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Social Workers Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) who must be an advanced social worker, to be either an advanced social worker or an independent clinical social worker.

Email Senators on the Health and Long Term Care Committee about HB 1589

HB 1589 requires commercial insurance carriers to negotiate and work more fairly with small providers. It requires carriers to share and negotiate fee schedules, provide clearly marked copies of contract changes as they occur, disclose the name and contact information of the primary representative the provider will work with, and demonstrate increased transparency, accessibility, and willingness to negotiate.

• Use the district finder https://app.leg.wa.gov/districtfinder to find your state Senator.  (WE DO NOT NEED TO EMAIL REPRESENTATIVES)
• Click on your Senators name.
  
• Click on the yellow email box.
• Fill out step 1 and step 2 (this will flag you as a constituent, and constituent emails are prioritized over all others.)
• Step 3 is 1589
• Click SUPPORT
• Subject is "Please support HB 1589"
• Add your message
