During this legislative session WMHCA is advocating for HB 1190.  This bill will allow LMHCA's to access HEAL-WA.  HEAL-WA is an evidenced-based platform that combines several databases so that providers can access up to date information.  HEAL-WA brings together evidence-based health information for Washington healthcare providers.  Currently LMHCA's are not allowed to access this information and use the database.  Here is a list of eligible professions. Marriage & Family Therapy Associates as well as Clinical Social Worker Associates are eligible professions.  

To have your pro position noted for the legislative record, click the link above and then click the link that says sign up to testify/submit written testimony (on the right).  Please make sure HB 1190 is selected then click the link that says, "I would like my position noted for the legislative record".  We do not need any additional verbal testimony at this time.

WMHCA is asking for your support to get this bill passed.  If we are able to pass this bill, LMHCA's will also be among the providers that can access the databases.  There will be a slight licensing fee increase for associates to use the library (No more than $25 per year)
