I am a Professor Emeritus with 35 years of experience including; Elementary and Middle School Counselor, Residential Child and Family Counselor, Residential Clinical Supervisor, Group Counselor, Sexuality Counselor, Private Practice Counselor, and Counselor Educator and Supervisor. I have a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology in Education and a Master of Education in Counseling Guidance and Personnel Services. I have served as a Counselor Educator, CACREP Coordinator and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program Coordinator. I have supervised intern field placements where I collaborated with many mental health providers, supervisors and agency staff to continually improve counselor training. My efforts as a Counselor Educator were primarily focused on teaching and service where I developed, coordinated and supervised campus-based family counseling services as a part of our training program. My past counseling, supervisory experiences and training have included a wide variety of client issues including; child abuse and neglect, child sexual abuse, children in foster care, children and adolescents with sexual behavior problems, counseling GLBTQ clients & partners, domestic violence, parent education, family, couples, individual counseling, counseling clients in crisis and victims of trauma. In 2011 my colleagues from the Northeastern Association for Counselor Education and Supervison awarded me the “Counselor Educator of the Year Award”. I served as a Chair and Executive Member of Connecticut Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (CACES) were I coordinated and facilitated clinical supervision training workshops for supervisors throughout Connecticut. I also served as President of the Connecticut Counseling Association for two terms and worked with the Connecticut Legislature to improve the scope of practice for Licensed Professional Counselors. Both CCA & CACES recognized my efforts with the “CCA Immediate Past President Award” and the “CACES Division Leadership Award.”
