As the uprisings of 2020 have gone from a roaring rumble to a slow simmer and resistance over whether critical race theory and sexuality education should be included in the curriculum, the onus is on us to re-learn our history and create a path forward that acknowledges our truths. We can no longer be dependent on the romanticized history lessons that most of us have received. This workshop will provide a historical context of the development of societal norms within American sexuality.

Learning Objectives:

  • At the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to define on history event that is currently impacting modern day sexuality .
  • At the end of the event, the attendees will be able to identify one person who has or is disrupting the narrative in our field.
  • At the end of this workshop attendees will be able to define and discuss self-of-the-therapist issues that arise from the course activities and experiences
