Adolescents Anxiety Behavioral Health Children Depression and Bipolar EMDR PTSD The Support, Advocacy and Resource Center (SARC) is an accredited Non-Profit Sexual Assault Program/Crime Victim Service Center, and Child Advocacy Center (Kids Haven CAC on site). SARC provides advocacy and on-site mental health therapy to victims of crime. I am the Clinical Director for SARC's Counseling Program. I provide trauma-informed therapy (including EMDR and TF-CBT) to children, adolescents and adults who have been affected by crime(s). I also provide Clinical Supervision to Counseling Program staff and Interns.

With a diverse background in academia, mental health counseling, and holistic wellness, Leslie brings a unique perspective to her work, specializing in providing inclusive therapy to creative individuals. She has a particular focus on supporting Black individuals who are descendants of enslaved Africans in the United States, those who identify as queer, particularly transgender and gender nonconforming, and neurodivergent, while remaining open to working with individuals from all backgrounds who seek transformational and authentic growth. As an Intern Therapist at MEND Seattle, Leslie is immersed in an organization that centers intersectional feminism, the QTBIPOC community, and social justice. She is also a Washington state Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, who is launching her part-time telehealth private practice, Liberating Joy Therapy and Consulting, PLLC. Leslie is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, where she has studied Consciousness, Spirituality, and Integrative Health from Saybrook University, building upon her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the same institution, as well as a Master's degree in Arts and Humanities Education from New York University. In addition to her academic achievements, Leslie holds certifications in Ayurveda Wellness Consulting from Maharishi International University and Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Her commitment to physical wellness is evident through her previous certifications as a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Zumba Instructor. Leslie's personal journey has been intertwined with chronic health conditions, which has given her a deep understanding of the challenges associated with living with chronic pain and illness. She is passionate about supporting individuals who are neurodivergent, creative, outside-the-box thinkers, Blerds, seekers, and those with multiple marginalized identities. Leslie creates a safe and empowering space for her clients, helping them navigate the complexities of their unique experiences and empowering them to cultivate resilience and find balance. Healing is at the core of Leslie's therapeutic approach. She believes that healing is an act of resistance to capitalism, colonialism, and systemic oppression. By prioritizing joy, rest, and self-love, Leslie collaborates with her clients to empower them to heal and liberate their authentic selves. Her approach is grounded in Humanistic Psychology, Liberation psychology, neurodivergent affirming practices, and queer affirming practices, as well as an intersectional Black Womanist approach that prioritizes social justice. Beyond therapy, Leslie offers consulting services, programs, and training in education, psychology, Black history, and equity, justice, and belonging. She is dedicated to creating positive change in these areas and supporting individuals and organizations in their pursuit of education, growth, and social justice. With Leslie's guidance, clients can explore their unique experiences, overcome obstacles, and ultimately live joyful and authentic lives.
