Ashley Sorensen
Adolescents Anxiety Behavioral Health Depression and Bipolar Psychotherapy PTSD “So often life can be hard to navigate on your own. It is my hope to teach you tools and skills to make life feel more balanced. I have a deep passion for people and cherish each person’s journey and story. Sharing your story is powerful in its vulnerability and often that is where the healing begins. Collaboratively, we will develop therapeutic goals that I will help support you in achieving. With a growth mindset, I believe in people’s ability to change and heal. I look forward to assisting you in developing techniques that will specifically help you achieve your goals.”
Katie Stickney
Anxiety Domestic Violence EMDR Grief and Loss LGBTQ Issues Psychotherapy PTSD Women's Issues I offer telehealth and in person appointments at my office on north Capitol Hill. Generally, my work focuses on psychodynamic and somatic approaches to trauma, including parts work, Polyvagal-informed therapy, and EMDR. I have extensive experience working with queer folks of all kinds, neurodivergence, relational abuse (DV, narcissistic abuse, sexual abuse), childhood attachment traumas, and incorporating spirituality into therapy. Specific niche populations I love to work with are gay and lesbian survivors of conversion therapy, folks of uncommon trans experience (eg. those who desisted or detransitioned, those who transitioned long ago and still live with gender dysphoria), and deconstruction of harms from religion in even mainline/liberal denominations. I provide clinical consultation on all of these topics, especially how to incorporate Polyvagal theory into therapeutic practice. I also enjoy supervising associates who do either similar or different work compared to my work (my own supervisor was an LMFT, and I find we can learn a lot from therapists with different approaches!)

John Stifter, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA)
Adolescents Anxiety Consulting and Coaching Couples Therapy and Divorce Crisis Depression and Bipolar Family Therapy Geriatrics and Lifespan Grief and Loss Life Transitions Men's Issues Psychotherapy PTSD Race and Ethnicity Issues Solution Focused Brief Therapy John earned his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Whitworth University. After receiving his undergraduate degree in 2006 from Montana State University, John was a journalist for 15 years. He uses his sincere, inquisitive interest of the human experience in the therapy setting to treat adolescents, adults, couples, and families living with shame, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, and life transitions and questions. Trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and the Circle of Security Core Sensitivities and Parenting for individuals and families, John believes that every person has inherent attachment wounds and behaves accordingly to protect those uncomfortable vulnerabilities. By addressing underlying emotions, he feels privileged to hear clients’ life stories while sitting with them in their pain to begin the process of healing. As the Sufi poet Rumi once wrote, “The cure for pain is in the pain.” John is a husband and father, as well as an avid skier, who finds peace in nature alongside his playful family and dog.
