A Call to Gather: WSPA’s Silence from Regence

About 10 days ago, The Washington State Psychological Association (WSPA) sent a letter to Regence BlueShield questioning the legality of their decision to reimburse mental health providers the same amount for two distinctly different CPT codes. Click here for a copy of that letter. This change is due to go into effect on October 1, 2015.

At this time, WSPA has not heard from Regence with regard to this matter, although psychologists who contact Regence directly are told that the decision is final and that there is nothing that psychologists can do to address our concerns with the decision.

WSPA would like to request a meeting with OIC staff to discuss this matter, as time seems to be of the essence. Would you let me know at the contact information below if this would be possible? We would also like to include at this meeting representatives from the clinical social workers, ARNP, and other mental health provider associations.
